Welcome...
Holy hell … it’s 2011 already.
I wanted to get this info out to you sooner but I was debating if it was worth it, since
there is a group in North Carolina who says that the End of Days begins on May 21 …
on the plus side though, the actual END of the world won’t come until October
sometime, so we have that going for us.
And with that contrived, paraphrased, Bill Murray Caddyshack segue, let’s talk about
golf!
This is it … the MGO #25 … our silver anniversary … will be upon us in mere months!
What:
MGO 2011 - 25th annual!
When:
June 3, 4, 5, 2011 – Friday, Saturday, Sunday (we tried for a Monday date but didn’t
work out)
Where:
The place it all began: Treetops!
How Much:
$495 - $100 PER MAN DEPOSIT DUE 03-01-10!
How Many:
28! Absolutely no more spots available for this package! Get your $100 deposit in
ASAP because it’s first come, first served and it is CAPPED at 28 players!
We got tee times starting pretty much where we always like them. And for Friday, we
start at the beginning: the original Jones course.
- Friday – Jones Masterpiece – Starting tee time: 1:30 p.m.
- Saturday – Smith Signature – Starting tee time: 8:40 a.m.
- Sunday – Fazio Premier – Starting tee time: 9:30 a.m.
- Saturday Bonus – Threetops – Starting tee time: 4:00 p.m.
A few select details from the contract follow:
· Two nights accommodations in the Chalets
· 3 rounds of 18-hole golf
· 1 round of 9-hole round on Threetops
· 2 breakfast vouchers
· 1 dinner voucher
· Taxes, cart fees and use of the range prior to your tee-times included
Here’s the info for Thursday night!
Early arrival room rate for Thursday, June 2 offered at $69.00 per night: that’s only
$37.26 per person with tax … with a $55 round of golf on the Jones course (tee times
are reserved starting at 2 p.m.) that’s only $92.26 per person! We are only booked for
12 golfers at this time but if we get a lot of takers, we’ll talk to the resort.
A few changes this year, the two biggest being:
- The addition of Threetops on Saturday – winners (method TBD, right Bob G.?) and a
unique remembrance (also TBD) to come
The rest of the stuff will be familiar:
- The Gorilla
- Skins / Closest to the Pin
- Birdies
- Loads o’ laughs
Thank you all for your patience on receiving info for this. If you have any questions
please call or e-mail Dave or Bob G. (dpluta@msn.com / 586-292-1511 ...
rmgriglak@charter.net / 715-340-9420). Please forward deposits for yourself and your
group to Dave Pluta, 22800 Linwood Ave., Eastpointe, MI 48021.
Refunds will be provided per our usual policy ... if you have to back out (and we
understand that stuff happens), you will get paid back in full through about April 15. If
your exit comes late in the process, we will do our best to find a replacement and get
your deposit back ... however, if necessary late in the process (say, two weeks prior to
June 2), we may need to use your deposit to incentivize your replacement.
More details will follow as necessary. We'll develop a room list when we can.
Have a great new year everyone … I sincerely hope that things are looking up for
everyone ... no 99ers! If you are calling Marvin and you are close to that, get off your
ass and do something!
Later,
Dave and Bob.
(Special thanks again to Bob Boles for hosting our online presence.)

Don't Ever Forget...
Even though the weekend is centered around golf and there is some money
flying around, the biggest reason that this thing started 20 years ago was to
get together and enjoy some quality time with our friends. Tom's and Larry's
memories strengthen this tenet.
If anyone has any Pics, Ideas, or any other Whatevers they would like to share,
e-mail them to mgo@lakehousemusic.com and they'll probably show up
somewhere in the site.
As usual, when we have more to tell ya, we will.
Thanks,
MGMT.
